Mayda Salgado is a Houston-based real estate advisor with nearly two decades of local insight and a background rooted in business strategy, branding, and value creation. Originally from the Rio Grande Valley, Mayda has called Houston home for almost 20 years, primarily in the Rice Village, Museum District, and surrounding neighborhoods she knows intimately. With a degree in Business Administration, Mayda began her career in corporate communications, marketing, and mergers & acquisitions for a Fortune 500 building materials company. She later co-founded and scaled an international women’s jewelry and fashion accessories brand, successfully exiting the business in 2012. Her professional experience also includes over eight years working with a prominent Houston nonprofit, supporting underprivileged women and children across Harris County, an experience that continues to shape her people-first, service-driven approach. Guided by a passion for architecture, interiors, and the meaning of “home,” Mayda has personally designed and built several residences in Houston. This hands-on experience allows her to advise clients beyond the transaction—helping buyers, sellers, and investors identify potential, maximize value, and make confident, well-informed decisions. She works with both end users and investors, offering guidance on renovation strategy, short sales, and long-term real estate investments. As a real estate advisor with New Leaf Real Estate, Mayda is known for her thoughtful, detail-oriented approach and her commitment to building lasting client relationships. She serves a diverse clientele across Houston, South Texas, and international markets, including Mexico.
