The Rice was build in 1913, when it was completed it was the tallest building in Houston. You can feel the history living here today. I have exposed brick and 100 year old wood floors, and a blue steel girder erupt from my floor to hold up the building. Outside my windows I look out over the Houston skyline and mainstreet. I see the murals of the kid on the bicycle and the witchy woman.

Management's availability and responsiveness to (The Rice) residents needs improvement. Communication is not always consistent, and at times, it was difficult to reach someone when questions/ issues arise.

Beautiful apartment layouts, but really old appliances that are painful on your utility bills. Nice staff. Lacking amenities. Great location.

Everyone seems to be very nice here. I enjoy elevator banter. It's hard to not be social. I also enjoy the concierge and free valet Parking. Great perks! No complaints yet :)
