Living at The Rice Apartments does not reflect the high cost of leasing. For the price being charged, the experience should include attentive management, timely maintenance, and a higher standard of service overall. Unfortunately, the quality of living falls short of what you would reasonably expect for such an expensive property.

The Rice was build in 1913, when it was completed it was the tallest building in Houston. You can feel the history living here today. I have exposed brick and 100 year old wood floors, and a blue steel girder erupt from my floor to hold up the building. Outside my windows I look out over the Houston skyline and mainstreet. I see the murals of the kid on the bicycle and the witchy woman.

I’m new to The Rice and am really enjoying the community. The neighborhood is lovely and there’s plenty within walking distance including food and entertainment. Leasing, concierge and door staff are pleasant, courteous and always go above and beyond. I feel safe and at home and look forward to coming home each day!
