Finally Free

We lived here for 2 years, and it is a relief to be free of this place. UDR is a parasite of a company that will nickel and dime you every chance you get. Record everything. Read EVERYTHING before you sign it. We had to fight them while trying to move in and sign he lease, and it was a fight to leave. Halfway through the lease we caught them trying to trick us into higher rent when we changed parking spaces and attempted to get us to resign a whole new lease rather than an addendum.
We caught...
them illegally entering our apartment on two separate occasions while we were not home. We have proof of both occasions (and the front office acknowledged their wrong doings). Having a ring camera is a must-have if living here. The employees are not to be trusted. Know your rights as a tenant.
We were charged for things we fixed on the move out inspection, even though we did correct them. Very convenient that the move out inspector was one of the ones who entered our unit illegally. We had requested to be there in person; we signed the paperwork to do so. The inspector showed up a day early, no notice, while we were not home, and completed the inspection. Luckily the charges were minimal and It was a small price to pay for the peace of mind to never have to deal with this place again.
Their maintenance team and the contractors they get to do work for them is extremely spotty. it took us 6 months to get our washer fixed. A bug exterminator handed me traps that were wet and assured me they aren't open they are just wet. They were wet, and the chemicals burned my hand. I've had the pool guy pour chemicals into the hot tub while I was in it, and I had to get out because my skin started to burn. We had one guy came to fix our leaky shower, fix the leak, but then the shower AND bathtub turned on at the same time. He said, "I fixed the leak, so that isn't my problem” and left.
One of the residents was shot and killed a few months back in one of the buildings.
Elevators are constantly broken.
They replaced most of their guest parking with EV spots they charge for so there are never any spots for visitors. I am surprised they haven't started charging for guest parking yet.
I feel bad for their front office staff. Most are good people trying to make a living while dealing with people pissed at the horrible company they work for.

not terrible, but management is abysmal

This property would be mostly great if it weren’t for the horrible management. Location is good. Maintenance is responsive only about 50% of the time, and if you have any issue and need to talk with anyone in management good luck. None of the people that work there know what they’re doing. Whether you call or go to the leasing office in person, everyone is clueless. I would’ve renewed my lease if it weren’t for how terrible my experience has been with management, and they even ILLEGALLY refused... to give me my move out inspection statement because they “don’t do that here” even though it’s required by California state law. And as my lease was ending the property was being sued for many code violations and bad living conditions.
Extremely expensive and nothing to show for it. MOVE ANYWHERE ELSE.

WORST Apartment - Towed my car, unresponsive management

This is the WORST apartment complex I have ever lived in; 15 years living in Los Angeles. Not only do they rarely respond to maintenance requests, or mark them 'completed' without coming to our apartment, but my car was TOWED from our private parking lot with NO NOTICE. No phone call to me, nothing.

Not only do I pay for the parking, along with utilities and rent that is WAY too high for what you get, but now they tow my car from where I live??? Insane. DO NOT SIGN A LEASE HERE. Save yourself...

Stood up for my leasing appointment, couldnt reach anyone

I made an appointment to visit using their website. The appointment date was on Memorial day but since it was an available option on the website, one would reasonably assume that they would be offering tours on that day despite the holiday. For the next few days I was bombarded by texts from their text bot asking me to set up an appointment even though I already did.

When the day came around, I went to the property and followed the directions in the confirmation email to look for a QR code...
which I could scan to get a code to get in. There was no such QR code anywhere, just 3 QR codes for resident apps. The phone number on the leasing office door was unresponsive. It did not take calls, it just played a recording to text them which I did to no response (A major red flag was a sign on the leasing office saying not to knock, only text. If they don't want to be bothered by anyone knocking, I can only imagine how responsive their service is to current residents). Another person also came by for a tour she scheduled and she couldn't get in touch with anyone either. While there I asked a few of the residents who were entering and exiting what they thought of the place and no one had anything good to say, validating all of the reviews here.

The next day I got a text from their bot asking how my tour was, and a little later, finally got a text back from leasing saying to come another day. If leasing is this disorganized, I can only imagine how resident support is. Between 3 phone numbers, (the number I was told I could text with any questions in my confirmation email, the number on the leasing office door, and the number on google), it took until the day after my appointment to reach a human. Needless to say, I, and the other person who came to visit when I did, crossed this building off our list.

Do not live here!

Homeless crackheads get into the garage daily because there is no security and most doors are unlocked or wide open. One pulled a knife on me today in the stairwell when I confronted him shoving stolen packages into a large bag. This building looks nice but it is not safe!
