Collett has spent nearly all her life in Kaufman, where she attended school from grades 1-12. Afterward, she received her undergraduate degree from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M- Commerce). She grew up riding barrels and cutting horses and working on her family’s ranch in the Ola community of Kaufman. Her real estate career began in 2000 when she started as a real estate agent working with her mother and namesake of the company, Elsie Halbert. Collett became the broker of record for Elsie Halbert Real Estate in 2007, succeeding her mother. Since she started selling real estate, Collett has used her first-hand knowledge of the area to successfully close real estate transactions in Kaufman, Ellis, Henderson, Van Zandt, and Dallas counties.
